The Reese's Dark has the same peanut butter nougat in the middle with a dark chocolate cup on the outside. The dark chocolate has a bitter aroma and has a dark bitter taste when bitten. However once you get into the peanut butter the sweetness balances the bitter chocolate. Nice way to disguise dark chocolate.

Cadbury Flake
Yes this is the flakiest milk chocolate bar on the market and probably since it was created in the 1920's. The chocolate taste is similar to regular Cadbury milk chocolate but a little more milky in taste. The Flake is so crumbly that pieces are everywhere. Nice rich milk chocolate aroma.

Nestle Baby Ruth
The Baby Ruth is an American classic containing fakeolate, peanuts, milky caramel and nougat. The packaging claims 4g of protein per serving. I must admit the fakeolate has a nice cocoa smell to it and tastes good surrounding the yummy interior. The mixture of caramel and chewy nougats is heavenly and then you add peanuts. Very chewy fresh bar. Still tastes like the Baby Ruth of old!

MIlka White Chocolate Confection
The White Chocolate Milka is a creamy white bar scored into small squares. Its good for a white chocolate bar except its too sweet. Plus like all the Milka bars the milk taste is overwhelming...not to mention the milky aroma. Not quite as good as the white chocolate Cadbury buttons. Still my favorite Milka to date!

Vande Walles Peanut Butter Meltaway
The Meltaway is another local product from Appleton Wisconsin. The bar is very similar to the caramel bar I reviewed earlier. It has a sweet chocolate aroma. The interior of the bar appears almost like solid chocolate but tastes like sweet peanut butter.
Grade: B. A little too sweet for me. The caramel from Vande Walles is still my favorite.

Kraft Toberlone
The classic Swiss chocolate bar its description is Swiss Milk Chocolate with Honey and Almond Nougat. The shape is classic resembling the concrete pillars set up by the Nazi on the coast of France to prevent tanks and vehicles from landing on the shore. Nice sweet chocolate aroma. Very creamy tasting with a light almond taste and hints of honey. A little too sweet
Grade: A- (Excellent). Calories 260 per bar. The Toberlone fondue made with cream is even better.

Reese's Crispy Crunchy King Size
Reese's Crispy Crunchy King Size bar was released about two years ago but I still haven't ate one until now. This is a combination of milk chocolate, peanut butter, peanuts and peanut butter candy. This chocolate is sweet but not too strong. This is fakeolate as vegetable oils are present along with possibly cocoa butter. I did like the triple filling of different peanuts and light molasses taste. It was a Butterfinger with a candy crisp.
Grade: B+ Very good. Serving size 1/2 bar which has 230 calories.

Sifers Valomilk
A classic of the American West heard of but not eaten by most. My first Valomilk was at the end of last year in Wisconsin. The Valomilk is a chocolate cup resembling a Reese's with a flowing marshmallow center that oozes like lava after you take a bite. The marshmallow flow is full of vanilla sweet undertones... nice flavor and consistency. The chocolate on the other hand was not as good, not sweet or chocolaty enough.
Grade: A- (Excellent) The chocolate was not as good but the novelty makes up for it.

Mockolate Candy Bars
There is a great website that I have found called the CandyBlog (http://www.candyblog.net). This site makes my reviews look amateurish but the resolution quest goes on.
Apparently the latest thing with Hershey is to fight the rising price of chocolate by adding fake vegetable oils instead of real cocoa butter to chocolate bars until it doesn't meet the FDA definition of chocolate. Hershey even tried to change the FDA definition of chocolate. Real chocolate must contain cocoa solids and cocoa butter and no additional vegetable oils. Unfortunately the 5th Avenue Bar, Take 5, Hershey’s Kissables, Whatchamacallit and other Hershey bars don't have real milk chocolate as an ingredient just added chocolate. Milton Hershey must be very unhappy in the afterlife. Hershey is doing well financially and the stock price has gone up by 25%. Hope one day we get the Great American "Real" Chocolate company back. I am a Hershey fanatic! (I own stock as well)

I am going to label my chocolates now as real chocolate or fakealote from now on. The candyblog website and others use the term mockalote but I like fakealote much better.

Twix PB 4 to Go Bars
Logo: Chocolate cookie + Peanut better covered in milk chocolate
The PB is basically a Reece's peanut butter cup molded over a cookie covered with a thin layer of nicely sweetened chocolate. The peanut butter filling is about 90% as yummy as the Reese's but they clone it exactly. Its a little too sweet and not as peanuty. The chocolate cookie crunchy and lightly tastes of cocoa. I like the regular Twix cookie better.
Grade: B- (Not a bad bar but not one of my favorites) Servings 4 per package which is one bar. Calories 120 per bar.

Vande Walle's Caramel
A delicious bar of thick milky sweet caramel covered by a thin layer of milk chocolate. The chocolate is sweet tasting but has a darker chocolate aroma. The caramel is so thick it reminds me of the old marathon bar. Made in Appleton, Wisconsin by Vande Walle.

Cadbury Heroes: Bournville
Bournville is a dark chocolate by Cadbury which is very flavorful. I am not sure what the cacao content is as there is not nutrtion information on the box but it must not be to high cause I liked it. The Bournville is also sweeter than most dark chocolates. Melts in your mouth slowly and a snaps in half nicely.

Cadbury Heroes: Cadbury Creme Egg Twisted
The Creme Egg Twisted is a little swirly chocolate. It has a nice chocolate aroma. The middle is a mixture of creme or fondant on one side and caramel on the other side. The white creme is very sweet but without much flavor while the yellowish side has a light taste to it...caramel maybe. Individually the flavors are just ok but the combination works

Cadbury Heroes: Eclairs
Cadbury Heroes: Eclairs
These are caramel bite size pieces with a chocolate center. The caramel is slightly hard at first but then melts in your mouth. Slightly sweet and milky in flavor. The inner chocolate is chewy and tastes of cocoa and milk. Not a bad combination they can become addicting even though I am not to crazy about the chocolate part.
Grade: B+

Cadbury Heroes: Cadbury Fudge
The Cadbury Heroes is a collection of seven individually wrapped Cadbury chocolates and toffees. I purchased the Heroes at World Market. This is my mission for the next seven days.
Cadbury Fudge. Small chocolate cover bar with whitish fudge on the inside. Typical Cadbury chocolate aroma on the outside but fudgelike on the inside. Slightly on the hard side and very sweet. Very milky and low on the chocolate intense flavor.
Grade: C. Very average. No calorie information given.

Hershey Mr. Goodbar
The Mr. Goodbar has been an iconic American chocolate bar since the 1920's but it has fallen on hard times. Unfortunately Hershey has messed with the recipe over the years in the interests of keeping the price down by decreasing the amount of chocolate till its not a chocolate bar. The chocolate and very peanuty aroma is still the same from my youth while the flavor is very salty and tastes of roasted peanuts which are crunchy. Its not bad tasting bar just not as chocolatey as before.
Grade: C. If only Hershey would come out with limited edition original recipe retro candy bars. 250 calories/bar.

Cadbury Curly Wurly 2nd go round
This is my second Curly Wurly of the year. Definitely one of my favorites from Cadbury. I would definitely give it an A for the scrumptious combination of caramel and chocolate. If they came out with a thicker version of this bar I would give it an A+

Reese's Whipps
The Whipp is a lightly covered peanut butter nougat covered in a thin layer of chocolate. The aroma smells faintly of chocolate but mostly consists of a sweet peanut butter. The texture is light and fluffy. You can definitely taste the peanut butter which is the layer under the chocolate. Overall a good tasting bar similar in texture to a 3 Musketeers bar. Overall a little too sweet and not enough chocolate flavor
Grade: B. 230 calories/bar.

King Size Snickers Almond Bar
A real chocolate line extension made by the Mars Corporation. This incarnation of the Snickers is made with almonds which should be healthier than the peanut variety. Unfortunately, I like the original better. The bar has a chocolate aroma but when bitten definitely becomes almond like. Large almonds mixed in with caramel overlie a nougat base. Decent bar with sweet nougat and milky caramel but the combo works better with peanuts.

Milka Alpine Milk
In February I had a Milka with chocolate creme filling which I was not too crazy about. But then I am not a fan of creme flavoring. So I decided to try the milk chocolate version of the Milka. The bar is very light appearing. I took several pictures with the flash on to get the lettering to stand out. The flavor is very milky with not much chocolate or hazelnut present. There is a burnt sugar taste of toffee present. The bar melts very slowly in your mouth unlike other milk chocolate bars.
Grade: D+. Pass on this one unless this is your only chocolate option. That is 0 for 2 for Milka. Calories: 230 cal/serving. Package contains 2.5 servings.

Cadbury Caramello
In February I had a Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel imported from Britain. The Cadbury Caramello is made under license by Hershey in the USA. This two serving bar has the same light brown color as the Dairy milk but is scored into smaller sections. Same milky sweet aroma. Very similar so far but now it changes. The caramel is not as sweet or milky but just as chewy. The chocolate is not as sweet or milky and more cocoa like. I definitely prefer the British version!
Grade: C+. One serving has 200 calories. 2.5 servings/bar.

Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats
America's favorite cereal snack has been available in small serving sizes for many years. The bar is small, low calorie compared to other candy bars, and there is not preparation. Sweet marshmallow aroma which when bitten has a nice crunch but is still chewy. Flavor of marshmallow and butter like.
Grade: A- Yummy. The only thing better is the homemade variety which have an even more buttery taste. Serving size one bar which has 90 calories.

Nestle Butterfinger
The Butterfinger is an all American classic first made by Curtiss in 1923. Very similar to the Fifth Avenue I ate in February. The Butterfinger has a very strong peanut butter and butter aroma with the chocolate playing second fiddle. The texture is crunchy and crisp. Strong peanut butter flavor with hints of molasses.
Grade: B+. Don't lay a hand on my Butterfinger! Calories 270 per bar.

Perugina Caramel
Perugina is an Italian chocolate company owned by Nestle. The Perugina Caramel is a dark chocolate bar with a caramel filling. Dark chocolate aroma come out of this nice looking dark brown scored bar. Very strong bittersweet chocolate covering sweet milky caramel. The sweetness works well with the dark chocolate. From now on I want my dark chocolate with caramel! My first bar from Perugina was a hit.
Grade:B+ 160 calories/serving. Three servings per bar.

Hershey's Milk Chocolate
The Great American Chocolate Bar is old time wrapping purchased from Cracker Barrel. Appearance is the same brown color that I associate with Hersheys. The bar and taste have not changed since the early 1900's. The only difference is the new emulsifier derived from castor beans. Soy lecithin is still used like in the original formula made by Milton Hershey. Creamy and soft feel in the mouth with a sweet milky taste.
Grade: B+. 240 calories/serving. 2.5 servings per container.

Cumberland Ridge Pecan Roll
Pecan rolls are usually not my cup of tea but they were on sale at Walgreen's. This one is a combination of mostly nougat with caramel on the outside to keep the pecans on. The nougat is slightly grainy with a cherry milky taste. The pecans are fresh and crunchy. The aroma is very sweet and of burnt milk.
Grade: D+. Way too sweet and the flavor is a very slightly burnt milk like.

Wonka Runts
We take a break from my regularly scheduled chocolate to eat some Runts which were given to me. No aroma with a waxy outer layer. The flavors were sour green apple and sour grape. Nice combination of sweet and sour flavored sugar. Pretty good but I still prefer Sweet Tarts.
Grade B. Serving Size 12 pieces/60 calories. 11 servings per container. 660 per box...Wow!

Mars
This the Dutch version of the Milky Way. Unfortunately my bar was slightly crushed on my way to work. The Mars is an attractive bar with milk chocolate overlying layers of nougat and caramel. The chocolate had a sweet aroma and was nicely sweetened. The caramel and chewy. Very nice tasting Milky Way...I mean Mars.
Grade: B+. 230 calories/bar.

Boyer Mallo Cup
The Mallo Cup is a famous candy bar of yesteryear so when I found it at Cracker Barrel I had to try it. Overall I was not too impressed with it.
The cups look like Reese's except that you can see the ripple of coconut in the top. Nice chocolate aroma but both the cups were stuck to the paper. The coconut taste and grtty feel was overwhelming and I am not a big fan of coconut. After eating you feel the coconut in your mouth for awhile afterward. The chocolate was milky and creamy and when you ate to the bottom of the cup the flavors were good until I ate some paper.
Grade D+. If only it was a marshmallow and chocolate only cup. Leave the coconut behind! 2 pieces have 200 calories.
