Wonka Exceptionals Scrumdiddlytumptious Chocolate Bar

The Wonka bar is back. During the last few years the only place to find the Wonka bar was Best Buy and even there I have not seen it in months. The Wonka bar is a real chocolate bar by Nestle. Elegant bar and sheen. The bar contains small pieces of chocolate and toffee. The toffee is buttery and the peanuts flavorful. Nice mix of flavors with the milk chocolate.

Grade: A- (Nice update to the Wonka bar. Too bad no Golden Ticket was inside)
Calories 170 per serving. Three serving per bar.

Back from Vacation

Life is crazy now after a great trip. Now paying for it at work plus I picked up a cold on the way home. Posted the cruise food pictures. Will start the candy bars tomorrow.

My amazing candy bar a day New Years resolution will be on break for a bit. So even though I will not be eating candy bars I will be eating more food, desserts and probably chocolate than usual as we will be on a cruise in the Caribbean. Till then...Here are some pictures of the amazing food and desserts I ate.

Reece's Fast Break

The Reece's Peanut Butter Cup is an American classic candy bar with milk chocolate and peanut butter. Various attempts at expanding the product line have been made over the years including the famous but average tasting Reece's Pieces. They got it right this time with the Fast Break which was created in 2001.




There are two inner layers which almost appear to not be connected to the milk chocolate. The peanut butter layer is larger than the nougat. Chewy bar with slight graininess of the peanut butter layer. Rich peanut butter flavor with nice chocolate and nougat flavors mixed in.

Grade: A. 260 cal/serving. Best peanut butter and chocolate combination I have had so far this year

World's Finest Chocolate Almond Day 2

World's Finest Chocolate Almond

A staple of the El Paso fund raising community for years now. I must have eaten at 50 of these in high school back in the 80's. Roasted California Almonds Covered in Rich Milk Chocolate. Nice chocolate aroma which has a slightly hard snap and crunchy almonds. The bar is very almond tasting with a not too sweet milk chocolate.


Grade: B. Solid if not spectacular chocolate bar which is worthwhile to buy for charity. 220 cal/serving.

Ghirardelli Chocolate Milk and Peanut Butter Day 2

Ghirardelli Chocolate Milk and Peanut Butter

Incorporated in 1852 the Ghirardelli company is well known for their chocolate. I really like their brownie mix with caramel. This bar is labeled as a creamy, gourmet peanut butter with crunchy peanuts enveloped in rich milk chocolate. Nice looking bar with peanut butter in the middle. Smooth and creamy with a slight thickness typical of peanut butter. Nice and creamy milk chocolate with a peanut buttery taste almost like real peanut butter.



Grade: A-. 250 cal/serving. Great tasting milk chocolate with good peanut butter center. The only thing better would be Ghirardelli milk chocolate bar dipped in real peanut butter!

Owyhee Old Faithful Second Go Around

As part of my vacation week out of town I have not had time to eat my normal everyday new candy bar. So to make up for it I had seconds of some that I had eaten before. Today I tried the Old Faithful for the second time. It didn't age as well as I had hoped as I bought these in early January. The chocolate was nice and may have even tasted better the second time around. However, the marshmallow cream didn't impress me much this time and had an aftertaste. So the moral is....eat your Old Faithful when you get it!

Cafe du Monde Beignets

Amazing french donuts fried to perfection and covered with powdered sugar. One of the best things about New Orleans. I usually have several orders every time I am in the Big Easy.
